Binh Dinh province, Vietnam added

without comments

As we slowly crawl our way up the Vietnamese coastal strip, another province has fallen to Travelfish. We’ve just added Binh Dinh province, probably better known by the name of its provincial capital Qui Nhon, to the site. Our coverage includes the capital along with the sleeping hideaway of Song Cau and a whole heap in between. Next stop Quang Ngai!

Phu Yen, southern Vietnam added

without comments

You may have though we’ve been asleep at the keyboard, but we’ve actually been busy bees over the last couple of weeks, and they’ll be a bit of a flurry of posts over the next couple of days.

First, we’ve just added coverage of Phu Yen province in southern Vietnam. “Phu where?” you ask… well, Phu Yen sits just north of Nha Trang, but as the silly Open tour buses don’t stop there, very few people check it out — and we assume guidebook writers don’t bother with it either… at least so you’d think going by their coverage…

Kicking around the province, we found great beaches, pretty scenery and a restaurant with “grilled unicorn-leather jacket” on the menu — what more could you ask for!

You can read all you’ll ever, ever need to know about Phu Yen, Tuy Hoa and Dai Lanh here. Maps are on the way.

Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan added

without comments

If you’ve even heard of Ninh Thuan province on Vietnam’s south-central coast, you’re doing pretty good. Our man on the coast has just spent the last few days rustling around the province and has come back with just about as detailed coverage as you’re ever going to need to explore Ninh Thuan. Starting at the capital twin towns of Phan Rang Thap Cham, he ventured out to cover the outlying beach districts of Ca Na and Ninh Chu and even found time to find the only restaurant in the region that dishes out authentic twaeji kim chi tchigae.

You can read our full travelguide to Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan province here.

Phan Thiet added

without comments

We’ve just added coverage to the capital of Vietnam’s Binh Thuan province — Phan Thiet. Most head to Binh Thuan just to hang out at Mui Ne, but Phan Thiet and its immediate surrounds isn’t too bad either. If nothing else, a handy day-trip when you can’t take any more beach time at Mui Ne. You can read all our Phan Thiet coverage here.

Dak Nong added

without comments

Well, if you thought Binh Phuoc was remote, we’ve just added coverage to one of Vietnam’s newest provinces – Dak Nong — whose capital, Gia Nghia is often described as the end of nowhere. We had a poke around and to be honest, didn’t find all that much, but nevertheless found some good places to eat and sleep. You can read more about Dak Nong here.
